Faye Eva Von Hausen was born February 20, 1921 at the family farm home nine miles northeast of Aunora, NE in Hamilton County the third child of Arthur and Laura Fenster Von Hausen.
In 1928 the family moved to York County, near Arboville. She attended Immanuel Parochial School and graduated from Polk High School in 1938.
On December 30, 1939 she married William C. Filter at Scottsbluff, NE. They lived in the western Nebraska and Torrington, WY area, later moving to Central City, NE where she worked at Central Bank. They had three children Barbara, William L. and Douglas. Mr. Filter died November 5, 1966. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod where she was baptized, confirmed, twice married and was a faithful worker of the church. She was Treasurer of the Polk Cemetery Association for thirtyfive years. She was a genealogist. January 12, 1968 she married Glen Stevens. They lived on a farm two miles northeast of Polk, NE. Glen died June 12, 1990. Faye moved to York, NE in 1922.
Survivors are one daughter Barbara Ronald Portrey, of St. Joseph, MO two sons William L. Judy of Phoenix, AZ and Douglas Filter of Canada two grandsons, five great grandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild sisterinlaw Bonnie Van Hausen of Scottsbluff, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, sister Edna Anderson and two brothers Lloyd and Rolland.
Memorials may be given to the Faith Lutheran Church, 1214 N. Ohio Ave, York, NE 68467.
Mrs. Stevens passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 in Roswell, NM. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Friday, November 14, 2014 with burial to follow at Arborville Cemetery near Polk, NE.
Serving as pallbearers are Terry Todd, Shane Todd, Denny Van Hause, Neal Van Hause and James Van Hause. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Todd, Shawn Todd and Taylor Todd.
