Zona Vee Hardy

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2011at South Park Cemetery for Zona Hardy who passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM.

Zona was born March 11, 1921 in Hillsboro, Tx to M.H. and Jessie Eula Bowers Mayberry. Both parents preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Fines E. Kiper on May 20, 1968. Zona then married Marvin Hardy, who preceded her death in 2007. Also preceding her in death are her two brothers, Homer Mayberry and Dean Mayberry and two sisters, Ruth Adams and Ruby Bratcher.

Zona is survived by her son Danny Kiper and wife Kaye of Artesia daughter Barbara Buchanan and husband Joe of Ruidoso brothers Paul Red Mayberry and wife Doris of T or C, NM grandchildren Twylla, Michael, Rebecca, Eddie, Kandie, Jason and Chris fourteen great grandchildren and one great greatgranddaughter.

She was a homemaker and worked at C.R. Anthonys and was a manager at S.H. Green Stamp for many years. Zona has lived in Roswell since 1951 coming from Hagerman. She was of the Christian faith and a member of The Church of Christ. Zona really enjoyed cooking for her family and loved to read.

Pallbearers will be Michael Buchanan, Paul Wetzel, Clinton Wetzel, Stan Dykes, Brent Dykes, and Michael Bellon. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Kiper, Jason Kuykendall, Justin and Jody Dalrymple.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Zona to New Mexico Christian Childrens Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, NM 88130.
