William Hardcastle

Graveside memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Tinnie Cemetery for William Ray Hardcastle, 74, who passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at his home. Pastor Scott Martin from Lake Arthur will be officiating. Ray will be cremated according to his wishes.

Ray was born November 6, 1938 in Roswell, NM to Samuel Elmo Hardcastle and Mable A. Purcella his parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Samuel Elmo Hardcastle, Jr., Owen Robert Hardcastle, Samuel Earl Hardcastle, and James Arthur Hardcastle, sisters: Willie Belle Hite Briscoe and Jeanne King.

Ray enjoyed fishing, gardening and tending his fruit trees. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members and friends. Before retirement, Ray was a heavy equipment operator, he was good at it and loved what he did.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Nancy Hardcastle, of the home children, Jackie Ray Hardcastle and wife Ree of Roswell, Maria Alvarez of Roswell, NM, Raenell Ward of Portales, Laurie Hardcastle Hanna of Farmerville, TX, Louise Wilkerson and husband Mark of Stephenville, TX, Loridda Derrick and husband Gary of Hawley, TX, Billy Goldsmith and wife Camille of Choctaw, OK, Kitty Smith of Roswell and Mary Smith of Oroville, WA his sister, Mary Herrington and her husband George of Roswell, NM. Ray is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Rays family would like to thank Anita, Rebecca, Dennis, Alma of Gentiva and Jennifer Hernandez for the special care that was given.
