Willadene C. Barnes
Willadene entered her eternal heavenly home on July 11, 2021.
She was born April 26, 1925 in San Patricio, New Mexico, to Candido and Estella Chavez. Her parents preceded her in death as well as her brothers Candido Chavez, Jr., Johnny Chavez and Clifford Chavez and sisters Cecelia Romero, Viola Stinnett, Elizabeth Mackey and Ethel Maes. She married Ernest Lee Barnes on March 22, 1947 in Roswell and he also preceded her in death.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend who dearly loved her family. She was always quick to prepare a meal for them when they would drop in for a visit. She was an exceptional gardener who always kept her house filled with beautiful flowers and plants. She cherished her years as a volunteer at the ENMMC Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children: Myra Westenbarger (Rodney), Jimmy Barnes (Fatima) and Marisa Barnes, grandchildren: Tracy Franco (Juan), Jamie Barnes and Samuel Barnes (Sarah), great-grandchildren: Dylan Franco, Jordan Franco (Sarah), Chase Franco, Hannah Franco, Paisley Barnes, Prudence Barnes and great-great grandson Gavin Franco. She is also survived by her beloved sister Dorothy Torrez and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Multicare for the wonderful care, support and love they provided to her this past year.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gateway Christian School, P.O. Box 1642, Roswell, NM 88201.
