Wilba Malinda Groves

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for Wilba Malinda Groves, age 93, of Austin, Texas. She passed away on June 10, 2008 in Austin. Rev. Gorton Smith of First United Methodist Church of Roswell will officiate.

Wilba was born on August 6, 1914 in Roswell, NM to William Hoffman and Ollie Conn. They both preceded her in death, as well as her sister; Dorothy Wright, and her brother; Clarence Hoffman.

Wilba grew up in Roswell, NM and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Roswell. She lived in the MidlandOdessa area for many years. Later she moved to Austin to be closer to her son. She resided there for four years prior to her passing. Wilba was a member of the PEOs, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her survivors include her husband; Robert Earl Groves of Austin, TX, her son Robert Lester Groves M.D., and his wife Cindy of Austin, TX, her brother; Billy Hoffman of Chicago, and her granddaughter; Jacqueline Groves of Austin, TX.
