John Wesley Needham Jr. 64, of Roswell, NM passed away at ENMMC on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, 10AM at South Park Cemetery with Andy LaRue of Highland Baptist Church officiating.
Wesley Needham was born in Artesia, NM to John Wesley Needham Sr. and Dorothy Needham. Wesley was married to Debra Braley Needham of Roswell, NM.
Wesley graduated from Roswell High School in December of 1974. He worked at Smith Machinery in the parts department until it closed its doors. Wesley then went to work for Pecos Valley Artesian Conservancy District, he worked there for 33 years.
Wesley grew up around water wells because of his grandfather and father. As a small child Wes would go with his dad to check water wells and grew to love the profession. He also fell in love with John Deer tractors and other equipment, like his father.
Wesley and Debra loved adventures and traveled whenever they could get away. Wes and his wife shared a deep love of animals and loved spending time with their pets, the dogs often went with them on road trips.
He is preceded in death by his father John Wesley Needham Sr; paternal grandparents, Wesley Layfette and Flora Needham; maternal grandparents Mack and Della Reynolds, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Debra Braley Needham; his mother, Dorothy Fuqua; sister Jana (Ron Camp); nephew Kyle Smith; niece Kieran Bartlett, and Aunt Bonnie Jones. Wesley loved his family, his nieces, and nephews.
Wesley’s coworkers at the district were his extended family, and he loved each of them, the family wishes to extend their gratitude for their kindness and compassion. Their quick thinking and care for Wesley.
