Wanda Mcelvaney

Wanda Lynn McElvaney, 83, ascended into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. The only child of Vala and Orby Howie, Lynn was bom on August 13, 1932 in Paris, Texas.
Always interested in the arts and music, Lynn enjoyed painting and creating artistic pieces throughout her life. Some of her artwork hangs in the family home as well as in the homes of other family members and friends.
On June 10, 1967 Lynn married Eugene McElvaney, Jr. Together they traveled the world and experienced many exciting adventures together. Lynn and Gene recently celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Lynn spent many years working in the oil and gas industry, most recently employed by Robert Beck. She truly enjoyed their special working relationship and friendship.
Preceding Wanda Lynn into Heaven are her parents, her daughter Janet Lynn Green and her son Jimmy Lee Pierce.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Gene of Roswell; Gene McElvaney III and wife Janet of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sue Teague and husband Troy of Roswell; daughter-in-law Fawn Alcom-Pierce of Roswell. She is also survived by several very special grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at South Park Cemetery with John Fuss of First United Methodist Church officiating.
