Virginia “Virgie” Silva

Virginia “Virgie” Silva, 85 years old of Roswell, NM went to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2019.

Virgie was of the catholic faith, she was born on April 16, 1934 in Las Cruces, NM to Jose and Maria Rodriguez. Virgie married her husband Faustino “Tino” Silva on April 27, 1953 and on November 6, 1958 they got married at St. John’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Rodriguez; husband Tino Silva; daughter Marylou Garcia; son-in-law Ron L. Garcia; brother Isidro “Chilo” Rodriguez; sisters Emma Rico and Elisa Compea’n.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sister Ramona Velasquez; sons Faustino Silva Jr. and Evelyn and Ernesto Silva and Christina; grandchildren Rosalinda Silva, Christina Whiteker, Faustino “Sonny” Silva III, Robert Christopher Silva, Ron Jon Garcia and Ramon Garcia. Also surviving are her fourteen great grandchildren Jacob, Luis, Faustino “Tino” IV, Mariah, Anthony, Tiffany, Diego, Jacob, Junior, Michael, Gavin, Zeya, Angeline and Eliana.

There will be a viewing from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Ballard Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am, Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church with mass to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Christina Whiteker, Faustino “Sonny” Silva, Robert Christopher Silva, Ron Jon Garcia, Ramon Garcia and Anthony Silva.

We would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hospice and Mission Arch Care Center, Adam of Mission Arch, who took from his time to cleanse her feet for her journey. Also, Rodney from Ballard Funeral Home and a special thanks to Randal of Mission Arch who has been her care giver from start.
