Virginia C. Anaya
Virginia C. Anaya, 87, a lifelong resident of Roswell, New Mexico passed away Saturday, February 9th, 2013. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. Virginia is survived by her daughter Yolanda Serrano and her husband Johnny Serrano, her daughter Debbie Lucero and husband Max Lucero, granddaughter Annette Weeks and husband Johnny Weeks, granddaughter Cheri Chavason and husband Arthur Chavason, granddaughter Marisol Lucero, greatgranddaughter Kenzie Chavason, greatgrandson Aaden Chavason, stepgrandson Darren Lucero, stepgranddaughter Brianna Brown, and sister Lola Marquez. She is also survived by her cousins, sisterinlaws, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anaya is preceded in death by her husband Ruben G. Anaya, by her daughters Annette Christina Anaya, Josette Gloria Anaya, and Mariette Sonja Anaya, her parents Dora and Ramon Cardenas, her sister Lupe Alvarado, and brother Ramon Cardenas.
Virginia was a resident of Casa Maria. She had several friends amongst the residents and staff. She always had a smile, a wave, a blessing and a prayer for the people she met. She will be missed by those whose hearts she touched.
A visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7pm at Ballard Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2013. A Rosary will follow beginning at 7 pm. in Ballard Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 am at St. Johns Catholic Church on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Father Gonzalo Moreno OFM will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Johnny Weeks, Hector Alvarado, John Anaya, Pedro Anaya, Roy Andrew Brady, and Alan Brady. Honorary pallbearers are Virginias nephews. Please join the family for an informal reception following the services.
