Vincent Joe Montoya

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Vincent Joe Montoya, 56, of Elephant Butte, New Mexico who passed away September 29, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends at the VFW, 2908 SE Main, Roswell, NM 88203.

Vincent was born to Fermin Montoya and Goldie Flores Montoya in Roswell, New Mexico on September 13, 1951. His parents survive him.

He is preceded in death by his brother Frankie Joe Montoya and his wife Hilda C. Montoya.

Vincent is also survived by his only child: Michelle Jaramillo and husband Frank; his brothers: Fermin Montoya Jr. and wife Maria of Houston, TX, Leo Montoya of Roswell, NM and Ray Montoya and wife Beatrice of Alamogordo, NM; his siters: Alice Carrasco and husband Pete of Roswell, Janie Pryne of Bernalillo, NM, Emma Olivas and Husband Martin of Lubbock, TX, and Stella Montoya of Reno, NV; and his grandchildren: Stepanie Mendoza, Sebastian Mendoza, Matthew Jaramillo, Crystal Jaramillo and Priscilla Jaramillo. As well as many numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Vincent served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of the VFW in Roswell, NM and in Elephant Butte, NM. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to be outdoors.

Pallbearers will be: Ray Montoya, Frank Jaramillo, Robert Velasco, Camilo Nunez, Pat Jojola, James Lay, Dominick Carbajal and Sammy Flores. Honorary pallbearers will be: Fermin Montoya Jr., Leo Montoya, Sebastian Mendoza, Matthew Jaramillo, Stephanie Mendoza, Crystal Jaramillo, Priscilla Jaramillo, David Velasco, Pete Carrasco Sr., Joe Ray Brito and George Molinar.
