Vina Sandi L. Gilchrest Morro

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 12, 2009 at South Park Cemetery for Vina Sandi L. Gilchrest Morro, 69 of Roswell who passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Roswell Regional Hospital. John Druesdum of Grace Community Church will officiate. Sandi will lie in state at the Ballard Funeral Home on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following the service the family will receive friends at 3202 N. Garden.

Sandi was born on August 19, 1940 in Gatesville, TX to Louie Gilchrest and Lillian Brazil Gilchrest. Her parents have preceded her in death.

Sandi married Alvin Morro on April 25, 1997 in Roswell, NM. He survives her at the family home.

Sandi is also survived by her sons: Ricky Young of Anna, TX, Todd Young of Muleshoe, TX, Rodney Young and Doug Young both of Pennsylvania and Matt Morro of Roswell; her daughters: Vicki Shea of Dallas, TX, Reva Mason of Abilene, TX, and Toni Morro of Roswell, NM; her brothers Larry Gilchrest of Quitman, TX and Harry Gilchrest of China Springs, TX; her sisters: Joann Persinger of Celina, TX and Anital Lofland of Gatesville, TX; her grandchildren: Christina Shea, Carrie Ann Young, Katie Pantoja, Mathew and Carrie Young, Misty Mason, Andrew Morro, Josh Mason, Cory Loy, Miranda Morro, Savannah Morro and Tim Mason Jr. and five great grandchildren.

Sandi has lived in Roswell since 1975 and was of the Baptist faith. She was a housewife and enjoyed quilting and bowling and was a member of the Roswell Bowling Association.

Pallbearers will be Tim Mason, Richard Shea, Marty Armstrong, B.J. Parker, Donnie Burden and Darrell Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren and Steve Sorensen.
