A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1111 N. Roselawn, in Artesia for Vencerlada Librada Riojas Aguilar, who passed away on September 13, 2006 in Artesia. She was 99 years old. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2006 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Artesia.

Librada was born on September 20, 1906.

On May 14, 1926 she married Luis Sosa Aguilar in Marathon, TX. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1989 in Artesia, NM, as well as her son Manuel R. Aguilar on April 4, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM, and her sister Elijia Riojas Aguilar.

She is survived by her son Jose Luis Aguilar of Artesia, and brother, Severiano Casimiro Padilla of Boquillas del Carmen, Coahuila, Mexico. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
