Velia Lopez

A rosary will be recited at 11:00 am, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Ballard Chapel for Velia Lopez, 78, who passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Mission Arch Care Center. Pablo Martinez of St. Johns Catholic Church will officiate. Velia will be cremated according to her wishes a private family burial of her ashes will take place at a later date.

Velia was born June 24, 1935 in Arabella, NM to Graciano Candelaria and Epifania Fresquez Candelaria. Her parents preceded her in death. Velia is also preceded in death by Rita Candelaria, Raymond Castillo, David Candelaria, Abe Candelaria, Margie and Felipe Linares.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Vickie Juarez and Becky Gomez and husband Michael five grandchildren, Doreen Ayars, Monica Gomez Trujillo, Richard Juarez Jr, Michael Gomez and Amber Fernandez and thirteen great grandchildren. Velia is also survived by Eddie Candelaria and wife Tina, Arthur Candelaria, Utilia Montoya and husband Jr, Olie Castillo, Cecilia Candelaria, Lucy Esparza and husband Gustavo, Sonny Candelaria, Steve Candelaria and wife Susie, Susie Sierocinski and husband Fritz.
