Ursula Chaves

September 29, 1941 — July 14, 2013

Ursula M. Chaves, 71, longtime resident of Tinnie passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her residence. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Judes Catholic Church at San Patricio and Mass to be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Thursday at the church with Father Galvan officiating. Burial will follow in the Picacho Cemetery with Felix Gonzalez III, Jacob Marquez, Gilbert Sambrano, Jr., Michael Chavez, Andy Gonzales, Kyrt Goldston, and David Allen Montoya serving as pallbearers.

Ursula M. Chaves was born on September 29, 1941 to Samuel and Eufracia Montoya in Hollywood, New Mexico. Her parents preceded her in death along with her brothers: Joe Montoya, David Montoya, George Montoya and nephew JoeJoe Montoya.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Modesto T. Chaves they were married August 20, 1960, daughters: Cynthia M. Gonzalez and husband Felix, Corina M. Chaves and Michael Chavez, Connie M. Marquez and husband Roger Marquez, Christina Chavez and Andy Gonzales, Shawna Hayhurst and her husband Tony. Her brothers: Samuel Montoya and his wife Betty and Melvin Montoya and his wife Diane and her sister in law Carol Montoya. Grandchildren: Caisha Gonzalez and Eddie Hamilton, Catricia Gonzalez, Casandra and Jesus Arroyo, Felix III Gonzalez, Gilbert and Angela Sambrano, Chelsea Marquez, Jacob Marquez, Kelsey Densman, Icie Mitchell. Great grandchildren: Cemiah GonzalezReynolds, Camora Hamilton, Andy Gonzalez Jr., Dominic Sambrano, Karly Dawn Sambrano, Jesus Arroyo V, Calise Arroyo. Nephew and nieces: Samuel Montoya III, Juanita Montoya, Eddie Montoya, Chuck Montoya, David Allen Montoya and Carlos Montoya.

Ursula lived all of her life in Tinnie, New Mexico she was involved in the PTA, St. Jude Youth Group, St. Joseph Mayordormos, and feeding all who came to her home. She was an active member of Hondo School, of the community and church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
