A funeral service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Susie Mae Carter 84, who passed away on August 13, 2010 at her home. Rev. Don Johnson of Bykota Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Susie was born April 22, 1926 in Hartselle, AL, to Noah Webster and Hattie Carter. Her parents have preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are three sons, Kenneth Murray, Scottie Murray, and Ray Murray.
Susie is survived by her sons: Bill Murray and wife Nancy of Roswell, and Steven Murray and wife Barbara of Roswell, daughters: Sandra Eckert of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Jerry Mayberry and husband Jim of Roswell, Martha Terry and husband Steve of Lovington, NM, Pat Tarvin of Roswell, Connie Briggs and husband Robert of Dexter, NM, and Barbara Sisneros and husband Joe of Rogers, AR, brothers: Harold Webster of Hartselle, AL, Noah Webster and wife Peggy of Hartselle, AL, and Bobby Webster and wife Barbara of Hartselle, AL, sisters: Marie Breeding of Michigan, Nora Kilpatrick of Hartselle, AL, and Wilda Kelley of Hartselle, AL, also surviving her are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Susie moved to Roswell from Alabama in 1963. She was of the Baptist faith. Susie really enjoyed embroidering and making quilts until her eyesight caused her to quit.
Pallbearers will be John Briggs, Robert Briggs, Michael Briggs, Dustin Briggs, Jerry Stafford and Jimmy Webster.
The family would like you to join them at 6420 Old Dexter Highway after the service.
