Susan Renee Alden

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church for Susan Renee Alden, 52 of Roswell who passed away October 28, 2009. Dr. Ruth Fowler of Trinity Methodist Church will officiate. Susan will be cremated according to her wishes. Family will receive friends at Ballard Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 2-4 PM.

Susan was born on September 25, 1957 to Roy K. Peterson and Dorothy J. Anderson Peterson. Both her parents survive her in Roswell.

Susan is also survived by her children: Brooks Thode and Laura Parks of McPherson, KS and Joshua Thode of Grand Junction, CO; granddaughter: Savannah Thode of McPherson, KS; her brothers: Greg Peterson of Albuquerque, NM and John Peterson of Independence, MO; her sisters: Kathie Sherman and husband Dr. Charles of Barrington, Rhode Island, and Janice Villareal and husband, Jake of Roswell; her nephews Jacob Villareal and wife Rita of Roswell, Justin Villareal of Albuquerque and Steve Sherman of Barrington, Rhode Island; her niece: Mya Sherman of Barrington, Rhode Island and great niece: Patricia Villareal of Roswell.

Susan was preceded in death by her grandparents: George and Gertrude Peterson and Harold and Myrtle Anderson, also, Greg Thode, father of her children.

Susan served her country in the United States Army and worked as a caretaker for Comfort Keepers. Susan was a graduate of Chico State University with a degree in Nutrition in 1998. At the time of her death she was furthering her education at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. Susan was a member of the R.A.S.C.A.L.S hiking club and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Roswell.

Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Roswell Humane Society at 703 E. McGaffey , Roswell, NM 88203, in Susans honor.
