Sue Melton

A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2014 at Neatherlin Family Cemetery at the Ranch in Pinon, NM at 11:00 A.M. for Sue Johnson Melton, 57, who passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at her home. John Hinze and Lester Stone will officiate. Sue was born on December 6, 1956 to Oliver H. Johnson and Wilmoth F. Newton Johnson in Roswell, NM. Both have preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, Bobby Melton of Pinon, NM, her sisters Dana Coupland and husband Jack, Peggy Montgomery and husband Danny, Kelly Hibbard and husband Mitch all of Pinon, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family moved to the family ranch in 1963. She spent her life helping on the ranch. She graduated from Weed High School in 1974. She was a member of Mayhill Baptist Church, Otero County and New Mexico State Cattle Growers she served as a board member for Otero County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed leather crafting, gardening, her dogs, horses and cattle.
Serving as pallbearers are Dan Coupland, Joe Hibbard, Marshall Hiles, Gary Melton, Roy Melton and John Hibbard. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Baptist Childrens Home, P.O. Box 629, Portales, New Mexico 88130.
