Steve Looney passed away into the comforting arms of his Savior August 30, 2016 at the age of 71. He was born to Charles and Inez Looney in Roswell NM on January 22, 1945. Both of his parents have preceded him in death.
Mr. Looney was a lifelong local who loved Roswell and made this community his home. Steve had a gentle heart for not only people, who he would much rather converse with than watch TV, but for animals as well. He cared for animals that were in need and felt responsible for their welfare. He enjoyed being busy in his free time and loved anything mechanical. He worked on all sorts of appliances from TV's to washers and loved cars and their mechanical interworking's. He loved and cared for his family above all things which he leaves to them as his lasting legacy.
He is survived by his sisters Arvella and Esther Helmstetler and grandsons Kevin and Eric Sedillo. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Inez Looney; daughter Alice Annette Lucero; and numerous brothers and sisters.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Steve Looney will be on Friday September 2, 2016 at 2:00pm at South Park cemetery. Brother Richard Smith will be officiating.
