Stephen L. Elliott II, 36, passed away December 10, 2008 at his home in Roswell after a brief and sudden illness. Stephen was born in Midland, Texas on July 12, 1972. Most of his youth was spent in Roswell, New Mexico. Steve graduated from high school at the Happy Valley School in Ojai, California. After graduation, he studied computer science at New Mexico State University. For ten years, he worked in the information technology field in Denver, Colorado before returning to Roswell to work in his familys oil, gas and ranching business in 2005. At the time of his death, he was Comptroller of Elliott Industries in Roswell.
Stephen is survived by his father, Stephen L. Elliott and wife Kathleen of Roswell; his mother Katie L. Hobbs and husband Tom of Justin, Texas; step-brother Ryan Marshall and wife Iris of Albuquerque, New Mexico; step-sister Jan Mohan and husband Nathan of Salida, Colorado; step-brothers Thomas Joseph Hobbs and wife Erin of Highland Village, Texas and Blake Hobbs and wife Michelle of Weatherford, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steves fascination with technology began at an early age and continued throughout his life. He was always happy to share his time and expertise. He had a variety of other interestsscuba
ing, music and Masonry prominent among them. Stephen always had a dog that was a valued part of his life, and he had a wonderful heart for animals. Friends and family knew Stephen to be compassionate and generousalways willing to help those in need. Many will miss his loving spirit and good heart.
Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of Stephens life. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 15, 2008, at Grace Community Church, 935 W. Mescalero, with Pastor Sean Lee officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Marshall, Nathan Mohan, Madux Hobbs, Thomas Joseph Hobbs, Chad Leister and William Leister.
