Sofia Ogas

We have lost someone very dear to us...our mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a companion, and a friend. She passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 02, 2018. She was born August 24, 1954 in Roswell NM to Cecelia Benevides and Alejandro N. Ogas. She was a homemaker all her life. She loved being around family and friends and she loved to party and have fun.

Her companion of 30 years was Leonides Pardo Sr. who has preceded her in death. She was very blessed with 9 children: daughters Dolores (Tina) Medina, Theresa V. Adame, and Cecelia A. Ogas all of Roswell NM; sons Tommy Ogas Castillo and wife Stephanie of Albuquerque NM, Ray Ogas Castillo and companion Alicia Rodriguez, Alex Ogas Castillo, Johnny Ogas Castillo, Daniel Ogas Castillo, all of Roswell NM, and Leonides Pardo Jr. of Phoenix AZ. She is also survived by her sisters Christine Rodriguez, Juanita Gandara and husband Lorenzo of Roswell NM; brothers Alex Ogas and his companion Jerri Samario of Roswell NM. Preceding her in death is her sister Andrea Ogas and brother Fernando Ogas.

She has 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Viewing was held at Ballard funeral home on Thursday January 4, 2018 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Celebration of Life will be held at St. John's Catholic Church at 3:30pm on Friday January 5, 2018. Family and friends will be received at the family home immediately following the services at the home of Alex Ogas.
