Funeral services are scheduled for 9 am, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Sixto G. Gurrola, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Ismael Gurrola will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

He was born in Durango, Mexico on March 28, 1928 to Juan Gurrola and Hilaria Gandarilla Gurrola both has preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory Is his wife Mary Dominguez Gurrola, son Ismael Gurrola and wife Arnetta their children Michal and Charis, son Benjamin Gurrola and wife Capulan and their children Cambria, Ellexis, Hunter and Trystan, son John Gurrola and wife Karen and their children Annika and Nicholaus daughter Alejandra Frias and husband Demetrio and their children Isabel, Gerardo, Araceli , Brenda and Maria and daughter Duma Gurrola Burr and her husband Earl and their children Daniel, Sarah. Also surviving him is his sister Alejandra Gurrola Garcia.

Sixto was a resident of Roswell, New Mexico for 23 years, from 1953 to 1965 and then from 1992 to 2002. Regardless where Sixto lived he always called Roswell his home. He was a proud member of the Local Union 802 Laborers, he was part of the team that was responsible for building multiple sky rises in the Los Angeles area, he was consistently employed due to his extreme work ethic, which he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
