Shirley Stephenson

Shirley Annette Stephenson 12/27/1935 -11/15/2021

Shirley was born in Roswell, NM to Fred and Zala B. Van Doren on December 27,1935.

On July 29, 1954 she married the love of her life, Billy Jack Stephenson, on the family farm in East Grand Plains. They made their home in Roswell, NM after Billy Jack completed his service in the military.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, painting, and going camping at Bonita Lake while her husband went fishing. She also loved her Cheetos, Dr. Pepper, and old western movies.

She is survived by her sister Cora Jennette "Toodlem" Adams (Richard) of Alamosa, CO; three children Cindy Vaughn (Curt) of Roswell, NM, Randy Stephenson (Annie Nelson) of Roswell, NM, Abby Scepka (Billy) of Deming, NM; grandchildren Jennifer Sanchez (Steve), Jack B. Scepka (Whitney Castor), Brittany Shannon (Mike), Taylor Coyle (Jake), Danica Tempero, Sunnette Stephenson; great grandchildren Kolby Sanchez, Brylend Castor, Hannah Shannon, and Lily Shannon along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents Fred and Zala B. Van Doren and her husband Billy Jack Stephenson.

Graveside services for Shirley will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday November 20, 2021 at South Park Cemetery.
