Sheri Coley ran her last race Sunday, February 13, 2022, after a very short battle with cancer. Sheri was born December 8, 1969, to Margaret and Grady Hobbs. She was a kind and compassionate soul rarely seen anymore. Most notable during her career as a hospice and home health nurse. She was always helping those in need.
Sheri had a passion for kids that was seen in the 32 that passed through her house either by foster care or just needing a home. Her house was where all the neighborhood kids spent their free time. Everyone around her knew Sheri's car was where you could always get a snack and something to drink.
Sheri had a love for animals that would be hard to match as well. It was seen from the time she was little bitty. She worked miracles on the racehorses that she cared from in her teens and early twenties.
Sheri has joined her many sons and grandmas in Heaven. Her family has peace knowing she is no longer in pain and will be watching over them. We can't wait to see what she has in store for us.
Sheri was preceded in death by her sons EJ and Shane Kincaid; stepdad Harold Coley; grandmas Willie Hobbs and Donnie Smith and grandpa Wayne Hobbs.
Sheri is survived by her parents Margaret Coley and Grady Hobbs; daughter Ashley Tweedy and husband Zach; son Mikel Hickman and countless others she claimed as her children, no child was motherless with Sheri around. Her grand babies Zachariah, Jaylene, Hailey, Kaitlyn, and Shawn Tweedy. Jayden and Mckenzie Hickman. Sambo Kincaid and again countless others, as Sheri would say "nobody can have too many grandmas."
Viewing will be at Ballard Funeral Home in Roswell, NM on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 3pm-7pm. Please wear pink or something colorful. Sheri never did like black at a funeral. Also, all children are invited and will be able to be kids. Sheri loved to hear kids laugh and play.
"Planting" will be Saturday at the family cemetery in Capitan, NM. As K age 4 would say "Ama will be planted in the cemetery so God can come and get her."
In lieu of flower please send a donation to your local foster care.
Pallbearers will be Zach Tweedy, Zachariah Tweedy, Howard Hobbs, Wes Noack, Daniel "Cody" Adam's, Mikel Hickman, Trea Hickman, Zach Bazyk, and Casey Harvey.
A celebration of life party will be set up at a future date.
