Shelly Stokes Coll
Shelly Stokes Coll went to be with Jesus on July 13, 2010, reunited now with her little sister Shauna. She lived in Roswell, New Mexico. Shelly was born in Plainview Texas on November 1, 1959, to Vernon and Belva Stokes. She grew up in West Texas, graduated from Burleson High School in 1978, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1982. Shelly will be remembered for her legacy of faith, family and friends.
Shell, as she was known to family and friends, was a dedicated wife and mother, who devoted her life to helping others. She was an avid follower of her childrens activities, and attended their sporting events, rain or shine, tragedy or triumph. She was a dear friend to so many and in return has many friends whose lives are richer for having been a part of her life. Gifted by God with hospitality, she always greeted you with a smile and often a hug, loved to host parties for family and friends, and thoroughly enjoyed time with those she loved. She served the Lord and others through her church, volunteer service in school, and serving the community. Most importantly, Shelly was a Godly woman who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that was evidenced by the way she lived her life. We rejoice that she has received her hope of glory and reward for a life well lived.
She is survived by her husband of twenty seven years Eric J. Coll, her children daughter Macy Dodson and her husband Mark Dodson, daughter Ashton Coll, her sons Taylor Coll and Spencer Coll, and one granddaughter Zoey Kate Dodson. She is also survived by her parents Belva and Vernon Stokes and her brother Shane Stokes and his wife Kim, all of Midland, Texas, her brother Shannon Stokes and his wife Kimberly, of Allen, Texas, her brother in law Brian Sanderson, of Lubbock, Texas, her father and mother in law Charles and Linda Coll, brother in law Clarke Coll and his wife Amy all of Roswell, New Mexico, sister in law Kelly Murphy and her husband Nick, of LaGrange, Illinois and twelve wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Shauna Sanderson.
