Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Roswell Baptist Temple for Sharon Lyon 57, who passed away October 19, 2010 in Springfield, Missouri. Rev. Bill Whitehead of Roswell Baptist Temple and Pastor Curtis Young of Kansas City, KS. will officiate.
Sharon was born in Roswell on November 16, 1952 to Howard and Emma Reed Vick. Her father preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are two sons, Ronnie and Roger Lyon, brother, Billy Vick, and a sister Evelyn Vick.
Sharon is survived by her husband Marvin Lyon, mother Emma Vick, daughters Jamie Tyrkala and her companion Rhonda, Judy Glover and husband Jason, and Sandra Spain and husband Jeremy, brothers Johnny R. Vick and wife Georgia and Gene Vick and wife Pam, sisters Teresa Tabor and husband Cecil, Anita Rivera and husband Mike, and Denise Vick, grandchildren Christopher, Jerry, Micheal, James, Audrey, Andrew, Gabby, Hannah, Levi and Alyssa, also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and her loving animals.
She was a lifelong resident of Roswell. Sharon was of the Baptist faith. She was active in the Senior Circle, enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and collecting dolls and many other items that she was fond of. Pallbearers will be Jason Glover, Sam Martin, Jim Martin, Robert Lyon, Richard Groves and Jeremy Spain.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Ballard Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
