Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church for Ruth Inell Smith 86, who passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Sunset Villa Care Center. Pastor Chris Mullennix of Calvary Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Ruth was born October 30, 1925 in Bray, Oklahoma to Edward Franklin and Laura Luretha Ellington Lewis. Both parents preceded her in death. Ruth married J.C. Smith on August 2, 1943 in Roswell, NM. He survives her at the family home.

She is also survived by her son Tom Smith daughters Laura Beeman and husband Gary of Roswell, Cynthia Scott and husband Steven of Lampasas, TX and Luretha Kuehn of Roswell brothers Edward Lewis and wife Gwen of McLoud, OK and Charlie Lee Roy Lewis and wife Norma of Roswell sisters Lillie Jacobs of Roswell and Anna Laura Willis and husband Howard of Salem, OR grandchildren Laura Luretha Alexander of Dallas, Christopher Scott, Jonathan Scott, Melody BeemanHaney, William Sanders and Jesse Beeman and five greatgrandchildren.

Ruth was a resident of Roswell since 1940 coming from Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ruth loved to sew and crochet. What she loved the most was to raise and take care of her family. She really enjoyed traveling and going camping. Ruth was a Girl Scout Leader and taught Sunday school when she was younger.
