Russell Brownell Ford, Jr.

Russell Brownell Ford, Jr. took his last ride from Ft. Sumner to Roswell with his wife Margie on August 6, 2008. Russ was born on June5, 1932 in Cohasset, MA to Russell and Catherine Ford. Russ served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force; he was a veteran of the Korea Vietnam War and retired a master sergeant. He was a long time member of the Boy Scouts of America and was known as pappy for many, many years to many boy scouts. He was a proud member of the Massachusetts society of the Mayflower descendents. Russ was member of the Ft. Sumner Rotary, DAV, Eagles, VFW and Air Force Association and left a legacy of serving his country to his son and grandsons. He has gone on his final tour and is waiting in Jesus arms for all of us to join him.

While stationed with the 509 squad in Roswell, Russ meets and fell in love with Margie Pilley and married her on August 4, 1954. He was her hero and she was his laughter.

Russ is survived by his wife Margie Ford, three children, Don and Ruth Ford, Marjory Rascon, Patricia Printit and Silver Rascon.

He has fifteen grandchildren and spouses Robert Mindy Marshall, Billy Marshall, Nathan Marshall, William Marshall, Richard Marshall, Tia Marshall, Elaine and Michael Gadbury, Matt and Mandy Ford, Sam Ford, Aaron Ford, Tyler Ford, Brittney Ford, Sonyia Ford and Jack Williams, Sabrina and Brian Keelin, and Silvia Rascon and Manuel Renteria.

He had 27 great-grandchildren David, Christapher, Alyssa, Samantha, Elaina, Bailey, Gavin, Saige, Maritza, Manuel Jr., Audrey, Michael, Loretta, Patricia, Charlene, Rylan, Aydan, Ethan, Jonathan, Rickey, Savanna, Ethan, Chloe, Bren, Aiden, Ethan and Timothy.

He was also an adoptive dad and grandfather to Brandy, Junior, Tony, Buddy, Juanita, Rita, Adna, Tino and many others.

He is also survived by his siblings Donald, Kathy, Mary, Oren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents Russell and Catherine, sister, Carol and son-in-law Smokey.

Services are pending at Ballard Funeral and Crematory.
