Rudolfo R. Rudy Romero

A rosary will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Rudolfo R. Rudy Romero, 67 of Roswell who passed away December 13, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A memorial mass will be 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial of ashes will take place after services at South Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Ava Maria Center after the services.

Rudy was born on April 27, 1941 in Arabela, New Mexico to Miguel Gonzales Romero and Sara Regalado Romero. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his sister: Aurora Salas; his brother Porfirio Romero Porky.

Rudy married Juanita Sanchez in October of 1962. His wife preceded him in death.

Rudy is survived by his sons: Ruben M. Romero of Ruidoso, NM, Eric R. Romero of Hondo, NM; his daughters: Debrorah A. Gomez and husband Martin of Glencoe, NM, Sandra J. Romero of Glencoe, NM and Sara M. Romero of Las Cruces, NM; his brother: Frank R. Romero and wife Virgie of Roswell; his sisters: Irene Montoya and husband Ermilio of Roswell, Rosa Sanchez of Ruidoso, NM and Joyce Rivera of Roswell, NM; as well as eight grandchildren: Aaron Gomez and wife Jade, Adam Gomez and wife Arika, Sadi Romero, Julian Martinez, Patricia Montoya, Patrick Montoya, Renee Romero, Eileen Alavarez, Noah Alvarez; great grandchildren: Aliyah Gomez, Jayden Gomez, Adam Jr. Gomez, Elijah Montoya, Bianca Sanchez, Saryah Romero, Maria Martinez, Julian Jr. Martinez, and Nathaniel Perreira.

Rudy has lived in Roswell for over 30 years coming from Arabela. He worked as a laborer in construction.
