A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at St. Peters Catholic Church for Ruby E. Jimenez, 56 of Roswell who passed away February 8, 2010 at her home. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Ruby was born on December 22, 1953 in Carlsbad, NM to Juan Romero and Maria Estrada Romero. Her parents have preceded her in death.
Ruby married Porfirio Pilo N. Jimenez on April 12 in Roswell. Her husband survives her at the family home.
Ruby is also survived by her son: Mago Jimenez her daughters: Guadalupe Renee Orozco, Bernice Bassel and her husband Ahmed, Erica Leos and her husband Jose, Natali Andazola and her husband Jesse and Lexis Jimenez her brothers: Robert Romero and his wife Estella, Ralph Romero, David Romero and his wife Yolanda, Roy Romero, Sam Romero and his wife Downa and Juan Romero and his wife Maria her sister: Lori Valdez as well as seven grandchildren: Desiree Romero, Thomas Leos, Ernie Peralta Jr., Sabrina Peralta, Alyssa Andazola, Alize Andazola, Richard Andazola.
Ruby has lived in Roswell for over 27 years moving from Carlsbad. She worked as a childcare provider for over 30 years out of her home and every child she took care of still remembers her. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. Ruby had a very big heart and was a very loving person and accepted everyone. She was very funny and always brought a smile to your face. She was a great cook and always made sure no one left her home hungry. She will be greatly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Porfirio Jimenez, Mago Jimenez, Jesse Andazola, Ernie Peralta Jr., Jose Leos, Tim Torres, Savannah Romero and Carlos Romero.
