A rosary is scheduled for 7 pm, Monday, September 1, 2014 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Ruben De Los Santos, 54, who passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 am, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 also at St. Johns Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Pacquing officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Ruben was born in Roswell, NM to Eulalio V. De Los Santos and Sipriana Martinez De Los Santos. His father preceded him in death on April 1, 1984.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Sipriana De Los Santos of Roswell brothers Steve De Los Santos and wife Gloria of Roswell, Richard De Los Santos and wife Betty of Ruidoso, Johnny De Los Santos and wife Silvia of Roswell, Rudy De Los Santos and wife Nellie of Roswell, Carlos De Los Santos of Roswell, Robert De Los Santos and wife Kay of Portales, Leroy De Los Santos of Roswell and Chucky De Los Santos and wife Maria of Roswell two wonderful sisters Virginia and husband Rudy Garcia of Portales and Valarie Marrujo and husband Carlos of Roswell. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Renee, Rhonda, Ronnie, Ricky, Kristi, Christopher, Matthew, Joseph, Thomas, Mark, Robbie Aaron, Andrea, Ryan, Melissa, Anthony, Yvette, Doreen, Chris, Misty, April, Michael, Joseph, Carlos and Rebecca. Ruben had thirty great nieces and nephews and seven greatgreat nieces and nephews. He referred to them as his sweet kids, he loved them all as if they were his own.
Ruben graduated from Roswell High School in 1979. He worked at Walgreens for twentyfour years as a customer service associate where he made an impact on many peoples lives. Ruben was a loving and caring son, brother, brotherinlaw, uncle and friend. He selflessly dedicated his life to taking care of his mother who he loved dearly. In his eyes she was the Queen Bee and was always on the go for her. Ruben enjoyed spending time with his pet dog Coco. He was a person who had a heart of gold. Ruben was an active member of St. Johns Catholic Church where he was involved with prayer groups. He will be missed by many but have shared a life for all to cherish the memories people shared with Ruben.
Serving as pallbearers are Carlos Marrujo III, Anthony Ortega, Christopher De Los Santos, Chris Bud De Los Santos, Ryan De Los Santos, Ronnie De Los Santos, Robbie De Los Santos, Ricky De Los Santos, Matthew De Los Santos, Joseph De Los Santos, Mark De Los Santos, Thomas De Los Santos, Michael De Los Santos, Joseph De Los Santos and Aaron De Los Santos. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces.
