Rose Barela

A funeral mass is scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Assumption Catholic Church for Rose Barela, 93, who passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Father Josh Duplissey will be presiding with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Rose was born September 3, 1922 in San Angelo, TX to Albino Carrasco and Lionisa Arredondo who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Patricio Barela.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons David, Lloyd, Daniel, Pat and Adam Barela; daughters Emma Barela Marquez of Texas, Olivia Barela Vasquez of California, Ida Mae Barela Davis of Texas and Bernadette Barela Granadas of NM; fifteen grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Rose resided in Roswell for seven-five years coming from San Angelo, TX. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Hagerman, NM. Her favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting. Rose's favorite thing was spending time with family who she loved dearly; she even raised two of her grandchildren. She wanted to always feed anyone who visited. Rose loved jewelry, shopping for clothes and make-up.
