Rosaria S. Vergara

There will be no services for Rosaria S. Vergara, 85 of Roswell who passed away November 30, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rosaria was cremated according to her wishes. Her ashes will buried at a later date next to her husband at South Park Cemetery.

Rosaria was born on August 4, 1923 to John Steinmetz and Emma Gleistein Steinmetz in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as two sisters: Margaret Petchnick and Dolores Zarkadas.

Rosaria married Andres Vergara. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1988.

Rosaria is survived by her nieces: Diane Hoffman of Bonita Springs, Florida and Marlene Gruber of Ft. Myers, Florida; her great niece Tara Gruber; her great nephew: Kristen Gruber and her great, great niece: Amanda Gruber.

Rosaria worked and retired from the state of Illinois. She came to Roswell and lived here for over 30 years and worked for Sanders, Bruin, Coll and Worley Attorney at Law Office and also Gordon Gay Law Firm. She also volunteered for many years at the Roswell Humane Society, Roswell Police Department and the Public Library.
