A rosary is scheduled for 12:00p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church for Robert C. Wood, 61, of Roswell, who passed away September 17, 2009 at Roswell Regional Hospital. A funeral mass is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Fr. Joe Nelson will officiate.

Robert was born on January 26, 1948 to Donald Wood and Mary Pontious Wood in Fort Meade, Maryland. His parents have preceded him in death.

Robert married Jeanette Tafoya on August 22, 1970 in Albuquerque, NM. His wife survives him at the family home.

Robert is also survived by his sons: Robert A. Wood of Roswell and James P. Wood and his wife Summer of Mesa, AZ; his daughter: Kara M. Wood of Las Cruces, NM; and a brother: Dennis Wood of El Paso, TX.

Robert has lived in Roswell for 28 years moving from San Angelo, TX. He worked as Assistant District Manager for the Social Security Office. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. He taught and lectured Religious Education at St. Peters Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed golfing and his new found hobby of snorkeling. He was also a veracious reader.
