Robert Lewis Murphy Jr. Murph
A funeral services is scheduled for 2 pm, Monday, May 7, 2012 at Grace Community Church 935 W. Mescalero Rd. for Robert Lewis Murphy Jr. Murph, 28 of Roswell, NM who passed away Sunday April 29, 2012. Pastor Rick Hale will be officiating.
Robert was born on July 23, 1983 in Roswell, NM to Georgianna Murphy and Robert Murphy Sr. Robert was a graduate of Goddard High School in 2001, he was very active in auto mechanics, agriculture, horticulture and a member of the FFA. Robert began as an auto mechanic for Hawks Service Center, a job that he truly loved and enjoyed. Robert started his career as a fire fighter with the Sierra Volunteer Fire Department he then joined the California US Forrest Service where he was on many crews. In 2011 Robert returned to Roswell and acquired his dream job as a Range TechnicianFire Fighter with the BLM Pecos DistrictRoswell Field Office. Robert was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, snowboarding, scuba diving, sky diving, wake boarding, motorcycles, traveling, and anything adventurous. Robert absolutely loved life, he was a motivator, mentor and touched many lives, and he will be truly missed.
Robert is survived by: mother Georgianna Murphy, brother Patrick Murphy, father Robert Murphy Sr., stepmother Fua Murphy, sister Viola Murphy, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brenton Starling, Ray Reta, Erin Craft, Josh Stites, Mike Fugate, Jeremy Parmer, Cutler Crockett, and Nick Richburg
Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Richburg, Wayne Gluff, Hollis Chip Boardman, Hollis Hawk Boardman, Abel Sanchez, Matt Zielinski, Derrick Sharp, Luke McGuire, Jay Starling, Travis Meidinger, Dusty Higgins, Rodney Eakin, Nick White, all of Bureau of Land Management Pecos DistrictRoswell Field Office, all of Sierra Volunteer Fire Department, all of California US Forrest Service, any and all of those who loved him as much as we did.
In lieu of flower, contributions will be taken at the service to be donated to The National Fallen Firefighter Foundation in honor of Robert Lewis Murphy Jr.
