Robert Elwood Austin

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Ballard Funeral Home for Robert Elwood Austin 90, of Roswell who passed away October 7, 2008 at a local care center. Phil Grassie will officiate.

Robert was born on April 8, 1918 in Mishawaka, Indiana to George Arthur Austin and Elsie Shelmadine Austin. Robert married Alene Marie Shumacher on June 25, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana. She has preceded him in death.

Robert is survived by his daughters: Sandra Bell and husband Bob of Roswell, Nancy Noonan and husband Gordon of Albuquerque; his grandchildren: Jeffrey Austin Noonan, Michael Darin Noonan, Kelley Austin Bell, Kimberly Lynn Hind and husband Matthew.

Robert served in the Army during World War II. He has lived in Roswell for over 26 years moving from Atlanta, Georgia.
