Richard Mckinney

August 5, 1944 — May 9, 2018

On May 9, 2018 Richard went to his final reward in heaven.
Richard was born August 5, 1944 in Roswell, New Mexico to Joe L. McKinney and Ida Fay Porter.
He lived here until 1964 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served Honorably and
Left the Navy in 1968. After his release from the Navy he moved to MD where he worked for
C&P Telephone CO, a job he said he was born to do; later he took a job in Ruidoso, N.M.
with Contel Telephone, after which he worked in California at Beale AF Base for GTE. In
1994 he moved to La Junta CO. to work for Century Link Telco and took the position of Area
Plant Supervisor in Lamar CO. In September 2005 he decided to retire.

Richard was preceded in death by his Father and Mother; a sister Rose Mary Lott; a brother
Earl Wesley Puckett.

He is survived by his son Trick Sixty aka (Steven McKinney) a sister Norma and husband Bennie
Dennis, Elsie and husband Ewan Cowhan, a brother Carl Lott and Ruth; several
Nephews and Nieces.

A visitation will be held at Ballard Funeral Home on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 12:00 pm to
5:00 pm.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at General
Douglas McBride Veterans Cemetery Roswell, New Mexico
