Richard Edward Creel
A graveside services is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday May 1, 2009 at South Park Cemetery for Richard Edward Creel, 79, of Roswell who passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 at Sunset Villa Care Center. The Roswell veterans honor guard will conduct a Military Graveside Services.
Richard was born March 11, 1930 to Haskell Garrett Creel and Ethel Elizabeth Creel in Ringling, Oklahoma. Both parents have preceded him in death.
Richard married Mary Lee Pryor on April 5, 1952 in Seguin, Texas. She also preceded him in death.
Richard is survived by his daughters: Belynda Sosa and Rebecca Creel of Roswell; his brothers: Haskell Creel and Robert J. Creel of Texas; his sister: Wilma Dale Tarr of Snyder, Texas; his grandchildren: Richard Bachicha, David Bachicha, Savana Jimenez, Mark Jimenez, and Jordan Creel; and his great grandchildren: Antonio Bachicha, Isiah Johnston, Xenia Bachicha, Tianna Garcia, and Nathaniel Bachicha.
Richard served his country in the United States Air Force. Before moving to Roswell he worked for La Von Farms as a herdsman in Plano, TX and also as a Criminal Id Officer for the Dallas County Sheriffs Dept in the early 60. Then moved to Roswell in 1975 and was employed as a herdsman for Prices Dairy until his retirement in 1991. After his retirement he worked part time for Interstate security as a security guard. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Roswell Gun Club. Some of his hobbies included Hunting, especially for coyote, camping and reloading. Richard also enjoyed playing bluegrass music. He played throughout Texas and New Mexico, and even played some music with Bill Monroe. He also played for Governors King and Caruthers.
