Regina Heldenbrand

Gina, better known as Nanna, Mrs. H and Momma Gina to her family and close friends, was born in Albuquerque, N.M., to Opal and Henry Brunner. After marrying her husband, Ed, they lived in Rio Rancho, El Paso and in Roswell for the last 23 years. After many years of being a stayathome mother, she found her lifes passion as a preschool teacher at Child Garden and Generations School. She enjoyed every day teaching and seeing the young minds grow and flourish. She enjoyed each child as if they were her own. When the grandchildren entered her life, Nanna found even greater joy and happiness.
Gina was filled with giving her love to everyone, making sure we were taken care of. Even in her final days she was still insistent upon making sure the needs of others were met before thinking of herself.
Gina quietly passed away surrounded by family and close friends after many years of proudly fighting her medical ailments. She never lost faith and put her trust and love with God.
Regina is survived by Ed, her husband of 38 years children Valerie and her husband, Robert, Jon and his wife, Kara, Casey her father inlaw Carl grandchildren Taylor, James, Kadence and Lillian her shared daughter Bialy Quinonez and her special sisters Livia Canizales, Shelli Cowan and Christine Lohkamp. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and her sisters Patsy and Charlotte.
A vigil will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. and funeral Mass will be on Monday at noon, each being at Assumption Catholic Church, 2008 N. Kentucky Ave. in Roswell. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to All Saints Catholic School, 2700 N. Kentucky Ave., Roswell, NM 88201.
Your love was as strong as the New Mexico spring wind
Your thoughtfulness was as beautiful as your spring daffodils
Your compassion for everyone around you was more enduring as the day is long
Your care of others was grander than the sunsets we enjoyed together.
Though my heart has been ripped apart, we will find the strength from your love for us.
