Raymond N. Castillo
Mr. Castillo passed away at his home peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Mr. Castillo was born in Dryden, Texas to Pablo Castillo and Florentina Narvaiz Castillo on October 2, 1941.
Both parents have preceded him in death, as well as a brother Miguel Castillo and great grandson Julian Castillo. On December 5, 1963 he and Olimpia Candelaria Castillo were married. She survives him at the home. They were blessed with four children that survive him: Patricia Castillo of Roswell, John Castillo of Roswell, Robert and wife Melissa of Roswell and Lydia Castillo of Roswell.
He is also survived by his: grandchildren Anastacio Sanchez Jr., Anthony Sanchez, Joseph Castillo wife Roxanne, Richard Torrez and wife Gina. Michal Shanks and wife Theresa, Robert Jr, Ray Castillo, Gabriel Barrera, Jacob Barrera, great grandchildren Kris Sanchez, Melody Torrez and Lindsey Shanks. He is also survived by his brothers Pablo and Kristie of Roswell, Jose Manuel of California, Arturo of Ft. Worth, Texas, Hector and wife Benita of Hobbs, New Mexico, Gustavo of Roswell; sisters; Maggie Castillo of Chicago, Illinois, sister-in-law; Gloria Castillo and nieces and nephews. In-Laws; Steve and Susie Candelaria of Grand Prairie, Texas, Arthur Candelaria of Irving Texas, Gustavo and Lucy Esperaza of Irving Texas, Caecila of Irving Texas, Susie and Fritz Sierecinsky of Sewell, New Jersey, Utilia and Filimon Montoya of Roswell, Velia Lopez and Margie Linares of Roswell, Abe Candelaria of Arizona.
Mr. Castillo attended St. Johns Catholic Church where he lived a Cursillo and worked many more. He was retired from the City of Roswell after working 30 years. The family wishes to thank Dr. Raes and all of Raymonds girls at the Dialysis Center.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren; Jacob Barrera, Kris Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, Gabriel Barrera, Richard Torrez, Michal Shanks, Robert Castillo, Jr., and Raymond Castillo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Melody Torrez and Lindsey Shanks.
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Monday December 22, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church and a funeral mass is set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 23, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Immediately following the services their will be a reception at Knights of Columbus, 900 E. 23rd St.
