Raymond "Babbo" Guajaca Anaya
A rosary is scheduled for 6 pm, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Raymond "Babbo" Guajaca Anaya, 64, who passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 in Roswell. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 am, Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. John's Catholic Church with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Raymond was born July 23, 1951 in Roswell, NM to Timoteo Analla and Elena Guajaca Analla He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ezequiel Analla and Joe Analla; sister, Maria and brother-in-law Nick Apodaca..
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Rosie Rue; sons Orlando Anaya and wife LaQuita, Israel Anaya, Fabian Anaya and Frank Gonzales; daughters Sonia Anaya, April De La Cerda and husband Orlando and Ariana Gonzales; brothers Nestor Anaya, Ruben Anaya and wife Susie, Tim Anaya and wife Gloria; sister Alvina Apodaca; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Raymond was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He was employed as an assistant Spanish instructor at ENMU-R, a Life Insurance Salesman and Lumberyard Foreman. His love for music persisted his entire life; he played the guitar since the age of 12 performing with Little Joe, Al Hurricane, Rosie and the Originals. He also entertained locally with the Starliners, Starliners II, Explosion bands and numerous other artists. His grandchildren lovingly referred to him as "Babbo", a name he held as close to his heart as his own.
The Anaya family wishes to thank Comfort Keepers for all their help, especially his main caregiver, Kristy Castillo who always kept him in line. A special thanks to James Licon who kept his yard looking good and John Cordova, his barber for going to his house to cut his hair. "Babbo" will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
