Raul Carrillo

November 18, 1968 — June 16, 2017

Raul J. "Gabe" Carrillo, 48, from Corpus Christi, TX, beloved husband and brother passed away on June 16, 2017. On November 18, 1968, Raul was born to Hilda Juarez and Jesus Carrillo in Fort Stockton, TX.

Services will be held on July 6, 2017 at 1:00pm at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joe Pacquing of Assumption Catholic Church. lnterment will follow at General Douglas L. Raul grew up in Texas, and then moved to New Mexico where he lived and attended Goddard High School. Raul finished his last two years of high school at New Mexico Military Institute, where he graduated with honors as a Military Captain. He served in the United States Army Field Artillery as a Battery Commander and Captain from April 1993 to January 2001 in Lawton, OK. Raul served in Desert Storm Gulf War in Iraq as an Artillery Officer. His duties included the supervision and welfare of (AIT) unit of Multiple Launch Rocket System and Cannon Artillery Battalion and responsible for training 500 soldiers in their military occupational skills. In January 2001, Raul was the recipient of the ARMY MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL. He was still an indefinite member of the United States Army Service and resigned as Major Raul Carrillo.

His education also included: Bachelor of Business of Administration and Reserve Officer's Training Corp at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM and was on the Dean's List. In 2001, Raul also received his Master's Degree in Business Administration at Cameron University in Lawton, OK. Raul also obtained an Associate in Arts Military Science at NMMI in Roswell, NM and was on the Superintendent's List, Phi Theta Kappa HS and ROTC.

After Raul's military career, he entered into the Medical Health Industry as a Sales Representative and Sales Trainer for Johnson & Johnson, Ethicon Division, Synovis Surgical Innovations and then for Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Raul excelled in all facets of his sales career and was selected as member of the "Region of the Year" in 2014. Raul's accomplishments were many and achieved the highest honors in everything he did throughout his lifetime.

Raul was the light and joy of many who knew him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved his family and friends very much. Raul's smile was infectious and lit up any room he entered with joy, laughter and a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by us all, but will be remembered forever for his kindness and his tremendous selfless heart. Raul loved his wife Sadie very much and "Jzee", the family dog, with all his heart and soul. We will never forget him.

Those left to cherish Raul's memory are his wife Sadie Ann Carrillo from Corpus Christi, TX; brothers: Rodolfo Carrillo and wife Sherry of Corpus Christi, TX, Rene Carrillo and wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Irma Ward of Houston, TX, Rebecca McArthur and husband Shaun of Roswell, NM, and many other family and friends. Raul was preceded in death by his loving mother Hilda Juarez and father Jesus Carrillo.

Serving as pallbearers are Rodolfo Carrillo, Rene Carrillo, Shaun McArthur, Robert Fernandez, Gary Nunez and Mark Brady. Honorary pallbearers are Humberto Martinez, Jerry Nunez, Gerald Ussery and Mark Young.

A Reception will be held after Interment at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3201 S. Sunset Avenue, Roswell, NM
