Ramon Ray Anaya

A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Ramon Ray Anaya, 50 of Roswell, who passed away on March 3, 2010 at Eastern New Medical Center after a long illness. Following the services at 11:30 the family will receive family and friends at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 3201 S. Sunset.
Ramon was born on October 2, 1959 to Rene Anaya and Socorro Analla in Artesia, NM. Proceeding him in death were his son Dominic Martinez Anaya, grandparents Gabriel and Marcela Anaya as well as Antonio Analla.
Ramon is survived by his parents Rene and Socorro Anaya, wife Virginia Martinez Anaya, his sons Alexis Horton Anaya of Santa Fe, NM, Gabriel Horton Anaya of Roswell, NM, Angel Horton Anaya of Roswell, NM, Ramon Horton Anaya, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Jesus Anaya, of Roswell, NM, and Jerry Paul Martinez of Roswell, his brother Rene Anaya Jr., of Arizona, sisters Carmen Anaya of Roswell, Rachel Anaya and Grace Anaya of Las Cruces, NM, four grandchildren Olivia Rose Martinez, Andrian Martinez, Joe Ray Garcia Anaya an Elias Garcia Anaya. Also survive him is his goddaughters Lxzandra Dawn Guerra, and Sarah Durwin.
Ramon attended school in Roswell at Mesa Middle School and Roswell High School and participated in football, track and field. He also loved to play the guitar and sing. His big enjoyment was to spend time with family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his sons, brother Rene Anaya, Jr. and Uncle Jesus Anaya.
