Pauline Miller
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Friday, August 10, 2012 at South Main Church of Christ in Roswell for Pauline Miller who passed away from this earth on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. She will then be buried in South Park Cemetery beside her husband Melvin L. Miller. Her soninlaw Pat Morris will officiate.
Pauline was born in Ranger, Texas on August 12, 1931 to Cecil G and Nola Wheeler. She was raised there, as well as in Bisbee, AZ, Deming and Carlsbad. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1949 where she was elected Female Athlete of the year and pitched for the State Champion Cavegirl Softball team. She married Melvin L. Miller on January 17, 1953 and began a family in December of that same year, eventually raising six children.
Pauline loved God. She also loved to be outside working in her yard or playing games and sports with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She could play baseball with the boys or sew doll clothes for the girls. She was a master Scrabble player, but could usually beat you at a number of board games. She would wake everybody up to see and then play in, the fresh snow fall. Her backyard painting events are favorite memories of her grandchildren. She loved the mountains and could hike as well as anyone, spending many hours watching deer, elk or the birds she fed. She loved life. She especially loved children. Even as her illness progressed, the sight of any child would make her eyes widen and her smile spread.
Pauline worshiped at South Main Church of Christ for 49 years, serving as Church Secretary for many of them. She raised four children and then adopted her last two, then helped her grandchildren any time she could. Pauline was Office Manager for the family business, Miller Investigations from 1985 to 2000. She was kind, gentle and funloving with more energy than anyone.
Her husband Melvin preceded her in death as did her parents and her brother Norman
Wheeler. She is survived by her older sister Nelda Patman of Paso Robles, CA and her younger sister Nita Simmons of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by her sons Timothy D. Miller and wife Nola of Roswell and Barry Miller and wife Elaine of Lovington daughters Dawn Miller of Roswell and Lyn Morris and husband Pat of Mesquite, TX, Tammy Sinclair of Roseburg, OR and Linda Miller of Lubbock, TX. She has twelve grandchildren Alycia, Alana and Bryttany Miller, Shana Fry and husband Jason, Sean Miller, Josh Miller, Justin Miller, Kevin Morris and wife Rebecca, Logan Morris, Bailey Morris and Samuel Sinclair as well as two great grandchildren Jonathan and Jared Fry.
Serving as pallbearers are Tim, Barry, Sean, Josh, Justin Miller and Kevin Morris.
