Norma Gonzales

A rosary is scheduled for 6:30 P.M., Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church for Norma Jean Gonzales, 60, who passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Lovelace Regional Medical Center. Funeral mass is scheduled for 10:30 A.M., Saturday, November 16, 2013 also at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charlie Martinez of St. Peters Catholic Church presiding. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Norma Gonzales was born April 20, 1953 in San Antonio of Bexar, TX, to Elidio A. Gonzales and Aurora Lovato. She was the 2nd oldest of nine girls. Norma was raised in the DexterRoswell area. She attended elementary and Jr. High School in Dexter then graduated from Roswell High School in 1971. She attended college at ENMURoswell.

She was married to Dick Mandonado on September 20, 1980. She was baptized, inspired and led many of her nieces and nephews to Jesus Christ. She was a Catholic by faith and belonged to St. Peters Catholic Church. She strived to be a good citizen and was a true example to all her family through her words, actions and faith. Norma and Dick were blessed with their son Matthew on October 31, 1990 who was the light of their lives.

Norma loved her family very much. When she wasnt with her husband or son, she was with one of her many sisters. Norma was most passionate about the education and care of young children. She was an entrepreneur with her own in home day care, where she helped care for and raise many generations of young children. She worked with the school system before she became disabled where she also pursued a college degree in paraprofessional studies.

Those left to cherish her memory are her father Elidio A. Gonzales mother Aurora L. Trujillo and husband Henry M. her children Matthew Mandonado and his significant other Randy Bills and her children Tyler and Savannah Burch.
Sisters Irene Gonzales and significant other Rudy Candelaria, Ann Lucero, Melinda Gonzales, Lorraine Cobos and husband Jerry, Sandra Renteria and husband Henry, Louane Soliz and Patricia Trujillo. Special NieceDaughter Alyssa M. Lopez
Special nephewson Rudy Joe Morones. Aunts Ruth Callaway of Jasper TX, Della Lovato of Roswell, Olivia Gomez of Monterey CA, Annie Regalado of Phoenix AZ, and numerous cousins.

Godparents to Norma Jean Yolanda Judy Barela of Hobbs, NM and Fernando and Librado Pacheco of Albuquerque, NM and grandchild Damien Drew Mandonado.

Nieces and nephews Peggy Carrillo and husband Joe Ray, Denise Cobos and husband Rudolph, Mark Salas, Jennifer Nunez and husband Antonio, Jason Lucero, Eric Lucero and wife Angela, Ruben Morones, Carlos Morones, John Cobos and fiance Ora Hensley, Rebecca Cobos, Cynthia Cobos, Jerry Aaron Cobos, David DJ Renteria and wife Flor, Rocky Renteria, Joey Renteria and wife Yesenia, Sandra Sandy Renteria and fiance Rudy Chavez, Mellissa Soliz, Dora Lynn Trujillo, Xavior Franco, Davina Trujillo, William Vegara Jr., her great nephews and nieces had a special place in her heart and she adored her numerous nephews and nieces from the Mandonado Family.

Those preceding her in death her husband Desidero Dick Mandonado, sister Rebecca L. Trujillo, grandparents Lidio and Consuelo Gonzales, David and Sostena Lovato, aunts Lousia Garcia, Connie Doerhoefer, uncle Joe Lovato, brotherinlaws Richard Lucero, Gilbert Lopez, Margarito Mandonado and Daniel Mandonado, cousins Modesta Nunez, Henry Olguin, Raymond Olguin, Jerry Olguin and Josie Giron and Joe Gomez.

Serving as pallbearers are Ruben Morones, John Cobos, Jason Lucero, Rudy Joe Morones, D.J. Renteria, Rocky Renteria, Joey Renteria, Aaron Cobos, Xavior Franco. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Salas, Carlos Morones, Eric Lucero, and Austin Cobos.
