A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Nina B. Board, 82 of Las Cruces, NM who passed away March 7, 2010, in Las Cruces. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Donald Petty will officiate.
Nina was born on May 15, 1927, to Dero Maples and Sarah Mayes Maples in San Marcial, NM. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as her first husband Clark Keith Sr., her second husband John W. Board, her son Jeryl Keith, her sisters Corine Barnes, and Melba Fleenor.
Nina is survived by her son: Clark Keith Jr. and wife Mary of La Mesa, NM her daughter in law: Margie Keith of Cloudcroft, NM her brother: Dero Matthew Maples Jr. of Wichita, TX her twin sister Ina Mae Cale of Midway, NM, and her sister Gladys Spooner of East Grand Plains, NM her grandchildren: Serena Shoop and husband Al Christy Gonzales and husband Greg Jeryl and Steven Keith her great grandchildren: Chelsie Shoop, Caryn and Erin Daly, Brittany and Lauren Johnson, Jordan and Jacob Gonzales.
Nina was a life long resident of Roswell and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was an amature artist. Nina received many ribbons at the ENM State Fair for her canned goods. She also loved horses and was always around them.
