Neil Lard

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Friday, December 6, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Hagerman, NM for Neil Jay Lard, 57, who passed Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Casa Maria Health Care Center in Roswell, NM. Officiating will be Robert Maples, Pastor of United Church of Roswell and Herb Gage, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hagerman. Burial to follow at the Hagerman Cemetery. Neil will lie in state Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Ballard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Pallbearers will be Floyd Lard, Dennis Evans, Jimmy Liles, Jamey Bratcher, Arthur Lard and Kyle Lard.

Neil was born August 31, 1956 in Roswell, NM to Arthur Loyd Lard and Ailene Jewel PeacockLard. His parents preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons Adam Mendoza of Odessa, TX, Jesse Lard of Roswell, NM and Jason Lard of Amarillo, TX brothers Ronald Lard and wife Katie of Cloudcroft, NM, Alan Lard and wife Dora and Boyd Lard and wife Carey both of Lake Arthur, NM sisters Ronda Griffin and husband Bill of Spring Branch, TX and Christy Powell and husband Gary of San Antonio, TX grandson Caleb Lard and numerous nieces and nephews.

Neil graduated from Lake Arthur High School in 1974. He worked as a farm laborer for years in the Pecos Valley. Neil really enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
