Monita Dorris

There will be no services held in Roswell, NM for Monita T. Dorris, 91, who passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 in Roswell. A funeral service will be scheduled at a later date in Harrisburg, IL where burial will take place at Sunset Hill Cemetery in the family plot.

Monita was born May 2, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Fairfax Townley and Mona Goodrich Townley. Her parents preceded her in death. Monita is also preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Dorris and niece Carla Jane Dander.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nephews Richard Dorris Pankey of Pittsburg, CA, G. Robert Pankey of Franktown, CO and eight grand nieces and nephews.

Monita enjoyed playing bridge in her Senior Circle group and loved going on the Circle trips. She was active in local DAR Roswell Chapter.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Monitas memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 24 W. Poplar Street, Harrisburg, IL, 62946.
