Miquela Sanchez

A rosary is scheduled for 7 pm, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman, NM for Miquela R. Sanchez, 69, who passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Las Cruces, NM. A mass is scheduled for 2 pm, Friday, May 17, 2013 also at St. Catherines Catholic Church with Father Brian Gurrini and Deacon Jesus Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery.

Miquela was born November 16, 1943 in Hondo, NM to Aristotle Romero and Fransisca Chavez. Both her parents preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Henry M. Sanchez and her brothers George Romero and Antonio Romero.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son John Sanchez daughters Debora SanchezFranklin and husband Paul Jay and Denise Sanchez and Wayne Sheppard brothers John Romero, Vincent Romero and Luis Romero sisters Flora Jaurequi and Bennie Flores her grandchildren Anthony, Timothy, Angelica, Zarina, Domenic, Matthew, Sophia, and great grandchildren Issac, Jade, Caleb and Tristen.

Miquela was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman where she served as a lector and CCD teacher. She was a very loving, caring and was always willing to help others in need. Miquela enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She will be remembered for her bright eyes and beautiful smile.

Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Franklin, George Romero II, Steven Flores, Louis Romero, Domenic Martinez and George Jauregui. Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Franklin and John Jauregui.
