Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Hagerman for Mildred Morris, 83, who passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Casa Maria Healthcare Center. Pastor Herb Gage will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery.
Mildred was born November 3, 1932 in Morton, Texas to C. P. & Mary Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Edgar and Carlos Foster; sisters Alba Foster and Evelyn Carrell.

Mildred moved with her family to Hagerman when she was about 5 years old. She lived in Hagerman until going to Casa Maria Health Care Center about two years ago.

Mildred was a member of First Baptist Church in Hagerman where she served in the Nursery Department for many years.

Mildred loved to crochet and made many little baskets for people in the Hagerman area. She also helped with Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. Mildred was Hagerman's unofficial historian. She knew everyone and everyone knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Rosa Mary Sartin (Gene) of Hagerman; one grandson Michael Lawing of Minnesota; brother Leonard Foster (Pauline) of Carlsbad; one sister Ethel Essery of Las Vegas, Nevada and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Casa Maria Health Care center for their loving care to Mildred.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Mexico Baptist Children's Home, Box 629, Portales, NM 88130 or your favorite charity.

Serving as pallbearers are Wesley Pilley, Ruben Lascano, Allen Pilley, Lynn Muncy, Martin De la Rosa Jr. and Kavan King.
