Michael Ray Gonzales

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, November 2, 2012 at Church on The Move for Michael Ray Gonzales 58, who passed Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Albuquerque. Pastor Shawn Kelly will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Michael was born February 24, 1954 in Roswell, NM to Fred and Mary Chaves Gonzales. His father preceded him in death as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Mary Gonzales daughters Cari Ann Gonzales of Albuquerque, Jessica Olga Chavez and husband Steven of Artesia, Marilyn Gonzales of Albuquerque and Rena Maestas of Albuquerque soninlaw Tom Maestas brothers Fred Gonzales and wife Norma of Roswell, Richard Gonzales and wife Lydia of Roswell and Tommy Gonzales and Rosi of Corpus Christi, TX sisters Cecilia Viverette and husband Chuck of Las Cruces and DeeDee Neal and husband Clifton of Ruidoso grandchildren Issac N. Chavez, Sierra C. Chavez, Israel S. Chavez, Samantha Maestas and Michaela Rae Gonzales. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Mike was a United States Army Veteran. He loved playing Billiards, he was a sports enthusiast and loved to travel and spend time with his family. In the early 70s Mike was a firefighter at Ft. Bliss. After he moved back to Roswell, Mike managed the Star Bar which was a family owned business in Roswell for many years.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Chavez, Tom Maestas, Fred Gonzales, Richard Gonzales, Tommy Gonzales, Chuck Viverette and Clifton Neal.
